GTE Instructor Conference 2023 registration open

Conference 2023 registration is now open!
Registration is open to all current and recently lapsed or expired Instructors, Provisional Instructors and Assessors. The status of all Instructors and Assessors can be found on our frequently updated certified guides and instructors page.

This year’s conference will be based on the Tara river, near Foča, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

GTE Instructor Conference 2023 Program:

26 April: Arrival to Rafting Centar Tara Raft River Camp
27 April: Instructor conference
28 April: Instructor conference (on water)
29 April: Instructor conference (on water and land)
30 April: Departure

There will be an Assessors meeting and meeting of the GTE Committee in the days immediately prior to the Conference.

GTE Instructor Conference 2023 Registration Fee:

The GTE Instructor Conference 2023 Registration fee is €350.00.

Included:

Conference attendance and materials
Full board (accommodation and meals at Rafting Centar Tara Raft) for the duration of the Instructor Conference
Use of centre rafts and rafting equipment
Transport during the conference (to/from the river)

Not included:

Airport transfers (available for additional fee of Sarajevo €100, Tuzla €200, Banja Luka €300, Podgorica €200). Fee is per vehicle i.e. shared amongst passengers
Personal rafting equipment
Personal effects including additional meals, drinks or medical supplies

GTE Instructor renewal

Attendance at an official IRF GTE Instructor Assessment or IRF GTE Instructor Conference at least once every three years is required for all Instructors and Assessors to maintain their certification (see page 17 of GTE Award System v6.0). In 2021, we held an online Conference which was considered a renewal for all those who attended. We strongly recommend all those who haven’t attended a phyiscal Conference since 2018 to attend this year’s GTE Instructor Conference.

Successful completion of the GTE Instructor Conference 2023 will renew Instructor certification for a further three years (new expiry would be April 2026), subject to also holding a current and valid first aid certifcate.

All outstanding GTE assessment fees from previous workshops need to be paid in full before successful completion of the Instructor Conference.

Provisional Instructors are reminded that there will be at least one Instructor Assessment in the weeks preceding the conference if they want to become full instructors before the conference. Details will be listed on our GTE workshops page.

Important information for non-Bosnian nationals:

There are now no longer any COVID19 restrictions on entry to Bosnia & Herzegovina. The most up to date information can be found on the Bosnian Border Police website.

Nationals of the following states may enter visa-free into Bosnia and Herzegovina with a passport or a valid identity card proving identity and citizenship of: member state of the European Union, state signatory to the Schengen Agreement, Andorra, Montenegro, Lichtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Serbia, the Holy See, and Switzerland. To see if you need a visa to enter into Bosnia and Herzegovina, visit the Bosnian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Registration is now open
Registration closing date is Sunday, 16 April 2023. No late registrations accepted.
Entry fee: €500 (EUR) per person – discounts for early registration payment (€350 if paid by 05 March 2023)
Payment instructions: Secure card payment, PayPal or bank transfer are accepted
Cancellation fees:
- Cancel between 05 February and 05 March: €100
- Cancel between 06 March and 19 March: €250
- Cancel after 02 April: Full registration fee
All outstanding IRF assessment fees must be paid prior to successful completion of the conference
