The organiser had somethings to say about the event:
“Last sunday, 11th of september, the Basque Association of Beach Tennis and
Minority Sports, the Basque Rafting section, organized in Itxassou, in France, French
Basque Country the I.Basque Country Championship of Rafting (Downriver). There we
went 8 young from to do a rafting race, the I. Basque Championship of Rafting, down
the river. We made two teams and with the help of two Itxassou guides we traveled
about 7 kilometers down the river.
Last weekend Botosani city in northern Romania hosted it`s first Euro Cup together with a kayaking race on the only artificial course in this part of Europe.
The fully catered event (competitors were offered free accommodation, meals and airport transfers) enjoyed the presence of four nations represented by 12 rafting teams and 19 kayakers racing in Sprint, H2H, Slalom, Downriver and respectively Kayak Slalom and Boater X.
The rafting disciplines were dominated by the Czech team Letgun who finished with a clean sweep of trophies, scoring the highest in each discipline and also managing a beautiful zero penalties slalom run.
The „lucky rule“ has applied to another race that took place in Czech Republic – this time in the southern Bohemia close to town of České Budějovice. The local racing area provides good white water terrain for both beginners and advanced paddlers and it is surrounded by beautiful nature. It is always great experience to come over there.
Even though the weather has played games with the race participants again, at the end of the day everybody had a blast!
Last weekend of school holiday belonged to rafting in Czech Republic. And it was a busy one! Rafters from four different countries arrived to Troja White Water Center in Prague to find out which team is the best in slalom and sprint race.
Especially Saturday 27th was really full on – the spectators could see athletes competing in Czech Cup in slalom both R6 and R4 categories, where R6 was also a National Championship for all age categories and R4 was the National Championship for U19 categories.
