WRC2022 Retrospective

As we are all used to, when Rafting Club Kanjon is the organizer of any rafting competition, it will be nothing less than amazing.
That was the case this time as well – WRC2022 in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be remembered for its great organization, unreal nature, incredible hosts and wonderful emotions.
From 22 countries, 61 teams came to test their skills and strength on two rivers – Vrbas and Tara.

Announcing ERC 2023 is back at Lipno!

We are very excited to announce we are returning to Lipno for our ERC 2023!
- Dates for event: August 28th – September 3rd 2023
- Location: Czech Republic
- River: Vltava River
- Nearest town/ city: Lipno nad Vltavou
- Hosts: Union of boaters of the Czech Republic (SVoČR)
SVoČR are one of the most experienced event organisers and in the past have run: ERC 1999, Prague; WRC 2003, Lipno; ERC 2012, Lipno; Youth and Masters WRC 2012, České Vrbné; numerous Euro Cup competitions since 1998 in various locations annually; Czech Cup Series hosting 50 – 100 teams at each event, including international ones.

Get to know your BOD – Pieter Bekkers

 Pieter Bekkers first joined the IRF Board of Directors in 2011 where he oversaw the Media & Marketing section of the IRF for a few years, then became Chair of Sport & Competition, and later he became Treasurer. In 2021 he was approved as an Honourary BOD Member. He was and still is very involved in the various committees and sub-committees as well as being an IRF GTE Assessor and Judge Assessor.
He comes from the kayak world which he started doing in 1980.

IRF to support the organization of the 48th International Touristic Una Regatta in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Through IRF’s endorsement, the Una Regatta will become a globally recognized whitewater rafting event
The International Rafting Federation (IRF), the official umbrella International Sports Federation for national rafting organizations worldwide and world governing body for rafting, is cooperating with USAID’s Developing Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina to support the 48th International Touristic Una Regatta in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held from 27 to 30 July 2022.

We take care of all our ‘children’ and work every day to improve ways to keep each of you with a smile on your face.

Get to know your BOD – Emilia Peneva

Emilia Peneva has been a member of the IRF Board of Directors since 2013 when she became Co-chair of Recreational Rafting and Conservation together with the late Rafael Gallo. She has been Chair of Recreational Rafting since 2017.
Her rafting experience started in 2002. The year before that they had established a club for adventure sports, starting with mountain biking, and then they added rafting to their activities. And that was actually the start of the first organised, recreational rafting trips in Bulgaria.
