As the Northern Hemisphere starts hunkering down for the winter, and the Southern Hemisphere dusts off their summer gear, we hope you all stay safe, and see you on a river soon.

World Rafting Championships 2022 confirmed – the vibrant Vrbas
31 Oct 2021 06:00 AM
After two years of obstacles and restrictions, the International Rafting Federation is excited to announce the World Rafting Championships location for 2022 has been confirmed by the Board of Directors. The IRF WRC 2022 will once again return to the vibrant blue waters of the Vrbas river in Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, Bosnia & Herzegovina.
The river Vrbas has been host to three European Rafting Championships (2004, 2015 and 2019) and host to the world renowned 2009 IRF World Rafting Championships where we had over 50,000 people attending the opening ceremony, were all introduced to the concept of night slalom and had 53 Open teams competing.
GAISF Council renews the IRF GAISF Observer Status for another two years
To our IRF member organisations, rafting clubs, athletes, associates, officials, coaches, and friends:
It gives me great pleasure to announce the news that the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) Council has recently voted to renew the IRF GAISF Observer Status for an additional two years.
As you know, the IRF applied for GAISF Membership in 2018, and was subsequently awarded GAISF Observer Status for a two-year period beginning in October 2019.
Ibar Euro Cup, which was held in Ušće on the Ibar River in Serbia, was the final Euro Cup 2021 event in the series. Pre-pandemic times we’d have seen anywhere between 9 and 12 Euro Cup events happening through the year. Despite the restrictions the Euro Cup 2021 saw eight events being held, four events each in the R6 and R4 series. Congratulations must go to those event organisers who had to deal with many restrictions and fulfil many requirements to run their events.

Ibar 2021 draws the Euro Cup Series to a close in Serbia
05 Oct 2021 01:54 AM
Ibar 2021 was the final R6 Euro Cup of 2021! It was held in Ušće on the Ibar river in Serbia last Sunday. Ibar is fast becoming a raft racing destination as this was the second Euro Cup (last year was the first) but also the third competition held here and organised by Rafting Asocijacija Srbije (Rafting Association of Serbia).
The race was in question due to the difficult pandemic situation in Serbia, as well as complicated procedures for entering Serbia, which made it difficult and impossible for some teams from abroad to come and participate.
