      Chinook Rafting, based in Banff – Alberta, Canada prides itself on its industry-leading risk management strategies and its reputation for fun and informative rafting trips on the Horseshoe Canyon (Bow River) and Kananaskis river in Western Canada. The quality of our trips and the enthusiastic, knowledgeable and adaptable guides we employ are what make many of our guests return year after year.

      We are looking for experienced whitewater raft guides & trip leaders for the upcoming 2018 season with contracts beginning May 1st and running through until September 30th.

      Job Duties include: Escorting and leading small groups on recreation trips, advising on safety, planning trips, guiding rafts, operating photographic & video equipment, and communication (including emergency) devices, providing emergency or first aid assistance, maintaining and repairing equipment, training and supervising junior staff, keeping logs and maintaining records.

      The successful applicant will have:

      • Minimum 3-5 years previous raft guide experience in paddle boats. Oar boat experience would be an asset.
      • Trip Leading experience with small rafting groups would be beneficial.
      • Raft Guide Instructor training experience would be beneficial.
      • Current raft guide certification.
      • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (minimum 16 hour course), although an Advanced First Aid qualification (40 hours or more) would be preferred.
      • Current Rescue 3 International Swift Water Rescue Technician Level I qualification or equivalent.
      • Completed high school.
      • Driving License.

      They will be over the age of 21, have excellent hospitality, public relations and customer service skills, be enthusiastic, reliable and an outgoing person that loves the outdoors.

      Terms of Employment: Seasonal position, Full Time, On Call, Weekend, Day

      Salary: $18.25 to $20.00 Canadian Dollars per hour depending on experience plus bonus & gratuities. 40 – 44 hours per week.

      Languages: English

      Anticipated Start Date: 1st May 2018 Anticipated End Date: 30th September 2018
