Zambezi White Water Festival – a Class V amateur rafting competition

Livingstone Zambia, Africa, the base of “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, the “Victoria Falls”, the Zambezi River, the middle Batoka Gorge.  This is the unique location for what is one of the worlds only class V amateur rafting competitions; the “Zambezi White Water Festival”. This years event is 25 – 27 October.

Conceived as a way for the white water community to celebrate this incredible river, the event is geared towards anyone that has a passion for adventure, the great outdoors and having a great time with like minded people. In an unbeatable location, with so much to offer it is the perfect excuse to visit this spectacular region.

“The mission statement for the event is to make it as affordable as possible, have as much fun as possible, support local charities and to bring as much exposure to this incredible river and the community as we can”.

The inaugural event of the “Zambezi White Water Festival” (ZWWF) was first held in 2017 and we had six teams, three international and three local. Retired raft guides, friends of the river, local business owners, and all in the community press ganged friends and relatives for competitors and the event was epic.

Due to the inaccessible nature of the ”middle Batoka Gorge”, we put on a three-day extravaganza for the spectators and those not going on the river. With live music, incredible food stands, beer stands, local art stands, bespoke local craft designs and all hosted at the “Victoria Falls Zambezi Waterfront”.

The “ZWWF 2018” looks to be even bigger and better, with seven international teams all signed up and ready for action. We are also having an “odds and sods” team for solo adventurers. Take a look and we can’t wait to see you all out here!
