Foz do Iguaçu, Brasil

Brazil is in the South American continent, popularly known as Latin America, and with a population of over 200 million people it is the fifth largest country in the world. The capital city is Brasilia and largest city Sao Paulo with the official language being Portuguese.

Teams getting to the WRC can travel through Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo, the choice is yours. Both cities are magnificent and it would be a shame not to visit them at least for two days. Try that much at least.

But our destination is Foz do Iguaçu. We first introduced you to the country through their dance and music, now we will take a look at some of the most important things you must see when you go to Foz.

The place where the R4 World Rafting Champs will be held will give you the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful waterfall in the world protected by UNESCO; and if you’d like to see some photos, take a look at amazepicsvids blogspot com. Here is a nice tourist video of the Parque Nacional Iguazu.

Right near the waterfall is the Parque Das Aves which has many beautiful specimens of birds and other animals typical of Brazil. Video of the Parque Das Aves

You can also see one of the wonders of human engineering – the world’s largest hydroelectric plant in power generation, the Itaipu Dam.
